This is what I was looking for: A reasonably priced option that is clean and quiet with the basic amenities. I appreciated that they were able to give me a room on the top floor when I asked. The staff was good.

Husband and I were there for ten days. The staff have been courteous and helpful. We stayed in the twin room with bath. We expected the room to be small, since we were in Japan, but the layout is well designed; making the small room as spacious as possible. There is tea and kettle provided in the room, as well as some toiletries and yukata. There is an ac which helped us on the swelteringly hot summer days. The bathroom is designed so as the entire room is a shower, so you can shower separate from the bath. The toilet, as expected in Japan, is separate from the bathroom. This is handy so if someone is having a shower or bath, another can use the toilet without disturbing. There are two sets of curtains on the window one sheer to let light in and allowing privacy, the other to darken the room, perfect for at night. There is coin laundry on the premises, however, the dryer is weak and doesn't dry well. My husband and I just air dried our clothes, appreciating the fact that we could wash clothes at all. On the main floor, there is a microwave/toaster oven and an espresso machine for coffee addicts. It was lovely to be able to soak my aching body in the bath after an eventful day. We were able to completely relax in the room, and the soundproofing was decent. There is a convenience store around the corner, for travelers needing anything from food, drinks, snacks and booze. A short walk away, is a metro station as well as a bus stop.

This was the nicest place we stayed in on our Japan trip - only stayed for two nights and wish we could have stayed longer! Quiet hotel in a quiet and friendly neighbourhood, but within walking distance of convenience stores and just a 5 minute walk away from the nearest station. Our beds were comfortable, room was clean and quiet and the blackout blinds guaranteed a good lie-in! There are coffee making facilities in the room, but also downstairs in the entrance lobby. Staff were lovely and helpful - my husband needed to see a doctor during our stay and they went out of their way to help. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

It was a lovely small hotel tucked away in a quiet side street. The rooms were very spacious and the seperate toilet was great. About a 10 minute walk to the market and train station. We booked two rooms for 3 of us, one king and one tatami and both were great. The tatami room was great for sitting around in.

The neighbourhood was quiet and I love that it’s close to the main city area but also tucked away. Convenience stores, bus stops was a short walk away. The room was a good size for Japan. They were also super accommodating with the check in time, we had train delays so we ended up arriving close to 12am, although the reception was closed, they still organised a way for us to get our keys.

Our stay at Carta Hotel Kyoto Bettei was exceptional. The hotel exuded a distinct charm, making our experience truly memorable. Our spacious twin room boasted a generous layout with an enchanting view of the bustling street below. The beds were a highlight of our stay, offering unparalleled comfort with their plush mattresses and pillows. Convenience was at the forefront of our experience, with the hotel's proximity to transportation hubs. A mere 5-7 minute walk to the metro and a 2-minute stroll to the bus station made exploring the city a breeze. The central location also allowed easy access to the main attractions, enhancing our overall itinerary. The staff at Carta Hotel Kyoto Bettei were incredibly hospitable, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. The complimentary coffee machine was a delightful perk, and the laundry facilities, complete with free detergent, were a lifesaver. For a nominal fee of only 500 yen, we had access to both the washing machine and dryer, adding convenience to our stay. Furthermore, the vicinity of numerous 7-Eleven and Family Mart stores provided added convenience for any necessities or snacks we required. Having stayed in hotels across Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto, we can confidently say that Carta Hotel surpassed our expectations and stands out as the pinnacle of hospitality.

Location was in a quiet area, 4 blocks away from a train station. The room was veryyy spacious and comfortable. Very friendly staff. Was well equipped (air purifier, hair curler machine, hair dryer, kettle, toothpaste, toothbrush, hair comb, ear cleaner, face scrub) and sleeping robes were given for free. Due to corona they don't enter the room so for new towels and garbage can have to be placed out of your door. I loved that they had put plastic cover in the TV controller.

The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable, the bathrooms were very clean and the hotel provided amenities such as yakata, toothbrush etc to make your stay comfortable. The rooms had a nice Japanese aesthetic similar to the pictures. The ladies at the front desk were very polite and they offer a laundry service at great prices which I would recommend. The location is also great because it is close to the main attractions but not too close which is great because it is less crowded.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was complete with essentials like toothbrush and toothpaste, hairbrush, hairdryer etc. The bed was large, the hotel smelt nice with a diffuser in the reception area, there was nice music playing, a microwave and coffee machine in the reception area, the hotel and room were warm (as it is winter right now). Overall, great value.
